Have you ever stopped to gaze at the stars?
Just to stare at their luminescent beauty from afar?
Were so far away from them, so very tiny,
When we ourselves are gazed upon from above.
Do stars ever get lonely, being so far away?
Do they have a family to love? Or anything precious that they
call their own?
And who loves them, those tiny stars above?
Above in the darkness,
Alone in the darkness,
With nothing to call their own.
It makes you wonder how they still shine so bright,
in the empty dreary night.
They live for what seems like forever,
Above in the darkness,
Alone in the darkness,
With nothing to call their own.
Theyve seen things weve never seen,
They know what we dont know,
Eternally wise and old,
Above in the darkness,
Alone in the darkness,
With nothing to call their own.
How can they still shine so radiant and bright,
after all the years of loneliness and tears?
Maybe I can shine as radiant and bright,
Through the darkness, tears, and fears of my life,
Braving through uncertainty and doubt,
Knowing that darkness is not the end,
But that love continues forever.
And I no longer have to do it alone.
Ah the stars are shining brightly tonight,
Above in the darkness,
No longer alone in the darkness,
With a friend down below to call
their own.
